If All You Can Do Right Now Is ‘Be’? That Is Ok

Take a deep breath.  Relax.

You are here, you are breathing, you are living and that is enough.

In this time of great uncertainty and in some cases, chaos, it is easy to lose sight of the big picture.

We can get completely caught up in the news, in social media.  We disconnect from self when we do that too often, and this is not good.

I don’t have children but many people I work with and am closely connected with, do.

There is a lot of pressure right now on parents, on teachers, on the children, on everyone and in different ways.

Important to remember that everyone is doing the best that they can.  Truly.

There is no metal to be won at the end of the day, there is no award for being ‘perfect’ whatever that entails.

Life is not a competition and life is messy sometimes!

Reality can be messy but reality is often refreshing and beautiful when we take a different perspective.

Sure, societal pressure creeps in and social media can be daunting and misleading.

The reality is that for many people just waking up and functioning right now is something to be proud of.

Putting one foot in front of the other when you may not know when your next paycheck is coming, when you may not see your family or friends for quite some time, these alone are accomplishments.

Remain kind, empathetic and compassionate towards others.

Let’s not forget the constant anxiety and stress about ourself or others getting sick, or heavens forbid, the fear of  losing a loved one.

Anxiety, depression and exhaustion are high right now.

Allow yourself the space to just be whatever that means for you.

Do what feels right and good for your soul.

Check on your family, check on your friends and make sure they are ok yes, but make sure you are ok.

If you need to pull back and be alone?  Then do that.  There is no ‘right or wrong’ here.

At the same time, use this time to re evaluate all of your connections.

Have you been spreading your energy too thin?  Have you been granting too much access to your energy and become depleted or even worse?  Resentful?

Use this time to disconnect and then reconnect to you.

Remember not to put too much pressure on yourself right now.

You don’t have to become top chef, master online teacher, marketing guru or anything else just because you ‘have more time on your hands’.

That time can be used for useful things that spark your soul, yes, but more importantly to go for a walk, meditate, talk to a loved one.

That’s more important right now because this is what matters.

Take good care of your soul, your world and stay safe and healthy.
