Today, 12/22- the Sun shifts from free-spirited and jovial Sagittarius into the sign of the more serious, solid and goal-oriented Goat, Capricorn.

I love the energy of Capricorn- it is one of my favorite signs. 

Capricorn falls under the element of Earth and is a Cardinal sign.  Earth makes Capricorn grounded and realistic, while being a cardinal sign is what makes our Cappys so motivated and determined.

Cardinal signs are the initiators of the zodiac.  They get things moving.  (Our other Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer and Libra).

As we are under cardinal (Capricorn) energy , right now is a great time to begin a new- to initiate something(s) in our lives.

Positive traits of Capricorn- loyal, dependable, hard-working, always seeking to be better.  They are ambitious, conservative, determined, practical and they love to be helpful, assisting others in their times of need.

Negative traits of our Goats- stubborn, self-indulgent and self-righteous at times, can appear cold and aloof but it is usually to protect themselves, pessimistic, controlling.

Make no mistake, Capricorn is solid.

This time of year is especially potent.  Expect to feel very motivated and goal oriented, just like our friend Capricorn.

Not only is the Sun in the sign of the steadfast Goat, but we also just had a New Moon and today is the Winter Solstice!  Perfect time for setting new goals that will start off 2018 in the right direction.  

Even though the New Moon energy is/was Sagittarian, it still carries the flavor of Capricorn as both the Sun and Saturn are both now in this sign.

Sidenote- Saturn, Capricorns natural ruler, has now entered the sign of Capricorn from Sagitarrius.  This is a good thing, as Saturn is quite cozy where it will spend the next 2 & 1/2 years.  Expect potent and important life lessons that will help you forward on your journey!

Under Capricorn energy, expect to feel more ‘chill’,  more determined, more ambitious.

Ideas will spark and begin to flow.  Trust the process. 

Seeds that are sprouted at this time have the best chance of immense growth.  Be sure to nourish your dreams and intentions right now.

The Devil is not that horrible, so don’t despair!  He comes to us to shine a light on to our control issues, our addictions.  These can be at the emotional level as well as the physical. 

Habits and behaviors that are unhealthy are at the forefront right now. At the soul level, I am sure we all have something(s) that we know we need to shift for a healthier life- mind, body, soul.

Often times we feel bonded or chained to a person, place or situation, when in reality it is our own soul and our own karma that is keeping us there.

The universe will support you once you make a decision, as indecision will not bring any movement.  It’s the law of energy.

Remember- Saturn rules this card and is our planet of lessons and karma, so look at what this card is trying to tell you.  Break the ties that bind.  You can do it.  Conquer your addictions.  The truth shall set you free.   

This time of year is especially difficult for those that are depressed, struggling or dependant on alcohol and/or narcotics.  The Devil is here as a warning to take it easy on these vices!

Please make sure you check on those you love and care about.  A lot of people are in a dark place, struggling and afraid to reach out.  If they cross your mind, it’s worth checking in on them- especially family.
