Happy 2019! Bright and happy wishes for a prosperous year ahead.
Today, 1/5 as of 8:28 PM EST we have a New Moon in Capricorn. This is also a partial Solar Eclipse, and the first New Moon of the year with some pretty positive, yet strong, serious emotions and convictions attached to it.
A New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle, the movement of the moon through its different phases.
New Moons are a time of new beginnings. The beginning of a new cycle, a time to initiate plans and projects, get things moving, a fresh start. Abundance typically surrounds this energy.
The Sun aligns with the Moon in the sky when it’s a New Moon meaning, that they are in the same sign-Capricorn.
Release, rebuild, renew and regenerate are the themes for this New Moon, and for 2019 overall.
With the Sun and Moon both in Capricorn right now, work is at the forefront .
We are under a lot of cardinal energy, meaning energy that initiates, that gets everything started.
We feel like we have ‘ants in our pants’ with this energy, and it may even feel a bit scattered and misdirected as we try and navigate the terrain of our soul.
Keep in mind that we have zero air (mental) energy in the current astrology, which means that we cannot escape what we feel. We are living by our hearts, as logic is more difficult to access.
Rolling up our sleeves after a period of introspection (2018) and making moves, making plans is where we are at.
Mercury, Saturn and Pluto are also all in the sign of the serious and ever-so-ambitious sea goat, Capricorn. This is forcing us to face and feel our own pain, our own limitations.
What does this mean, all of this Capricorn/Earth energy? We have the drive to move forward, and if we feel stuck, accepting that for the moment, this is where we need to be as well.
Oh and most importantly: this also happens to be a Solar Eclipse, the first of five this year.
A Solar Eclipse is still a New Moon, only more powerful and impactful.
Eclipses come in pairs (the next one is the Lunar/Full Moon in Cancer on 1/21), and are very fated and pivotal points for everyone. *Depending on where these hit your own chart will tell you more about which area(s) of your life is going to get an overhaul or a surprise.
We are standing at a crossroads, looking ahead and figuring out where we are going and who and what, is coming with us. What is supporting our growth, what is hindering it? This is an important time and is setting the stage for the next phase of our lives.
Clearing out the toxicity is the name of the game. People, places and situations, our own bodies. It is time to level up, release all the gunk that is weighing you down. You, and only you, know what that is and this looks different for everyone.
There is a literal purging that is taking place right now. An energetic cleanse, if you will. You may be experiencing headaches, body aches, heart palpitations, and itchy skin just to name a few. Trust in the process and follow your heart. Take good care of yourself this year.
This is a wonderful time to set intentions for the months/year ahead! Be sure to write down all that you wish to bring in, to accomplish. I am creating my yearly vision board for this New Moon..now is a great time to do that. 🙂
