8/15 8:29 AM we have a Full Moon in the eccentric sign of the free-thinker, the air sign Aquarius.

Full Moons are times of great release, purging and cleansing.  

A Full Moon happens when the Sun is opposite the Moon.

This highlights the polarities (opposing forces) in our lives.

These polarities are of an emotional, physical and spiritual nature.  It can be one area or all three, and each Full Moon will feel different based on the sign and planetary aspects surrounding the Moon.

Awareness and emotion reach their peak and are heightened around Full Moons.  This is why we feel more edgy and anxious around these times, sometimes not even being able to sleep.

The Moon rules our subconscious, the raw emotions that lurk underneath the surface.

Everything comes to a head under this energy.  There is a tug of war between head and heart.

The Sun is in Leo (the heart) while the Moon is  in the opposite sign of Aquarius (the mind).

Aquarius as a fixed air sign is quite intelligent, yet very detached.  Aquarius wants the bottom line.

Leo as a fixed fire sign can be very dramatic and intense, wants to shout from the rooftops.  Leo loves all the fluff.

These are two opposite signs with opposing emotions and view points.  Where one wants freedom, the other craves closeness.  We can really feel this polarity at this Full Moon.

We also have Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and the Sun all in fire! That’s a whole’lotta of Fire, and fire moves quickly.  This can feel like a major adrenaline rush especially if you are a fire sign or have a lot of your planets in fire! 

We can feel the need now stronger than ever under this energy to truly express what is in our hearts.

As Leo is a very ‘look at me’ sign, if in any way we are feeling ignored or disregarded, tempers can flare.

Aquarius does not stand for intense displays of heart-felt emotion most of the time.

They are way too logical for that, and besides, they have work to do.  This is the sign of the genius and the humanitarian, after all.

Take this time to focus on what it is in your world, or the world, that you can contribute to the betterment of.

This is the time to utilize all of your creativity, to take those brilliant and sometimes wacky ideas, to try to bring them down to reality.

There is a creative genius and free-thinker in all of us.

Follow your heart, but take your head with you.  This is where the true freedom resides.
