The Art of Tarot and Its Expression
Really, What Is Tarot?
Tarot, by textbook definition : playing cards, traditionally a pack of 78 with five suits, used for fortune-telling and (especially in Europe) in certain games. The suits are typically swords, cups, coins (or pentacles), batons (or wands), and a permanent suit of trump.
Blah blah blah…..
Tarot, by Lisa’a definition :
Tarot taps into your higher self, your subconscious, your soul. The cards reflect back to you that which you already know, deep down to be truth. There is so much higher wisdom and guidance to be found in the imagery of these cards!
Tarot cards tell a story, a story of you- past, present and future.
The cards are shrouded in mystery. The mystery of that which lies in our subconscious, our innermost feelings and workings that we may not even recognize until explored.
When having your cards read, it is your energy that is being deciphered through the images and symbols of the cards. The reader is the one who interprets and conveys these messages to you- therefore, it is important you feel connected and comfortable with the person reading you.
Readings should always leave you feeling a bit more clear headed (even if you hear something potentially negative), not any worse then when you walked through the door. If you feel fearful or hopeless after your reading, than that may be the wrong reader for you.
Remember: when you agree to be read, you are opening up your energy so if you get negative vibes from a person reading you, get up and leave! I have heard horror stories from clients about experiences they have had with other readers that make me cringe. I will be putting out a follow up post to this within a few weeks.
Moving along….
So- what can the Tarot do for me, you may ask?
So many things!
First and foremost, it can help you to recognize patterns that might just be blocking you from moving forward on your journey.
Are you helplessly repeating the same negative patterns over and over again, knowing full well that something needs to change, yet feeling powerless about it at the same time?
Let’s turn to the cards and see what they say. Hard truths come to the table within a Tarot reading, but this is always for your highest good!
Are you at a crossroads within your personal life, and need to make a decision? Turn to the Tarot. Everything is not always so black and white, and the cards will highlight the gray areas.
You would also be amazed in the ways that the cards can help you to make an informed decision. A Tarot reading will show you potential outcomes based on where you are headed- and most times, you get to redirect the energy for the best outcome.
* I say most times because yes there is free-will, but fate and destiny are very real and often play a major role in our lives.
Tarot can help you to explore your blockages. Most blockages, believe it or not, come from past life karma.
We can use the Tarot to explore our behavior, and look deeply into where we can redirect our energy where it may not have been directed with purpose before.
We will also be discussing a ‘regular’ Tarot reading versus an intuitive ‘psychic’ one (yes, there is a difference).
Tarot is very artistic in its own right.
