Here we are mid month, rocking and rolling!
The pace has picked up for sure, yet we are slowing down all at once. Interesting how that works, right?
Friday January 14, Mercury will station retrograde.
Here’s what you need to know:
On the personal level, Mercury is the planet that governs the way that we think, communicate, and perceive information. Mercury is currently in the air sign of Aquarius, where he can think fast and astutely…but he’s retrograde, a.k.a ‘backwards’ and this can bring in some frustrations and delays.
On the positive side, we can go inward to retreat, reflect, reevaluate and realign. This is how Mercury Retrograde can be used to our benefit. By taking a step back, by going inward.
Furthering this stepping back period, Saturn in Aquarius is close by supporting Mercury. While this can provide an extra bit of structure for some, it can provide frustration for others, and will likely do both!
In the broader sense, planet Mercury also rules over technology, travel (particularly air travel for this retrograde), communication of all forms, and information. There can be delays, frustrations and/or obstacles that come about in these above areas.
Leave some extra space and remain mindful and all should be well.
Monday January 17th, we have our first Full Moon of 2022.
A Full Moon happens when the Sun is opposite the Moon.
This highlights the polarities (opposing forces) in our lives.
These polarities are of an emotional, physical and spiritual nature. It can be one area or all three, and each Full Moon will feel different based on the sign and planetary aspects surrounding the Moon.
Awareness and emotion reach their peak and are heightened around Full Moons. This is why we feel more edgy and anxious around these times, sometimes not even being able to sleep.
The Moon rules our subconscious, the raw emotions that lurk underneath the surface.
Everything comes to a head under this energy. There is a tug of war between head and heart.
The Sun is in Capricorn (earth) while the Moon is in the opposite sign of Cancer (water).
Capricorn is a practical and hard-working earth sign. Capricorn seeks to make sense and order of things.
Cancer is the exact opposite of Capricorn, so in some ways a complement, and in other ways, a foreign energy. Cancer falls under the water element and is highly sensitive.
Full Moons are always emotionally charged and sensitive. The Moon rules the sign of Cancer and is quite cozy here so naturally, this adds another layer to the intuitive & emotional tone to this Full Moon.
Aside from this, this particular Full Moon is lining up with powerful and transformative Pluto. We are being asked to allow our deep emotions to surface, to swim in them. This can feel quite uncomfortable for some, while not so distant of a task for other.
One thing is for certain under this energy though: we all will feel something, and deeply at that!
Utilize this energy to support your soul by identifying what is no longer working for you emotionally.
Ask yourself: What no longer feels constructive? What no longer feels safe and supportive? Is there anything that is further disconnecting me from my truth, my center? This is what we shall seek to release.
Full Moons are always a time of deep reflection, contemplation, wisdom.
I encourage you to take a moment under this energy to quiet your mind, your heart, your soul.
Breathe, feel, and let it go. Be good to yourself, this is an intense and emotional time. Journal a bit. Wear your cozy slippers..do something that feels good, something that feels like home.
That is what the sign of Cancer is all about.
Home is subjective but remember: there is no place like home.
