Today, Friday 12/7 we have our last New Moon Of The Year in the fiery, optimistic sign of Sagittarius.

This is a very magical and auspicious New Moon, but not without some tension, naturally! 

This Moon takes place at 2:20AM EST.

Just like the Moon, we go through phases.

A New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle, the movement of the moon through its different phases.

New Moons are a time of new beginnings.  The beginning of a new cycle, a time to initiate plans and projects, get things moving, a fresh start.  Abundance typically surrounds this energy.

The Sun aligns with the Moon in the sky when it’s a New Moon meaning, that they are in the same sign-Sagittarius.

Renewal of hope, faith, optimism, truth, growth and expansion – this is all Sagittarius.  This is the flavor of the final New Moon of the year.

Where have you fallen short of your personal goals in 2018?  What have you allowed that you no longer wish to continue?  Where can you afford to be a little more genuine?  Are you living in your truth, owning your personal power?  All of these questions and more come up at this time as the energy peaks.

2018 has been a year of major introspection about ourselves and our relationships- and it has not always been easy!

Going into 2019, you should have a pretty good idea of what type of picture you wish to paint for the next year- and if you don’t?  Well, that’s ok as Sagittarius is all about finding our spiritual center and following our faith.  Our faith really can move mountains.

Remember, you do not need approval from anyone or anything outside of yourself.  Keep moving, keep growing and keep changing as no two persons journey is the same.

Be sure to sit quietly and contemplate where you are on your current journey, as this last New Moon of the year is a wonderful time to meditate and manifest.

Light a candle, make a list of what you wish to bring in over the next year.  Speak into existence all that you desire.  Keep the paper until the Full Moon on 12/22, where you can burn it along with all you wish to release.  Until then, read it and read it often.

Words are power, thoughts are power so keep those intentions pure .

Mercury has finally gone direct as of yesterday 12/6, but it is still in shadow until 12/24..so we are not totally out of the woods yet!  Travel and communication can and may, still be affected so stay vigilant.

There is a mixed bag of planetary energy surrounding this time, affecting us all in different ways.  Some very helpful and supportive, while some are adding a bit of tension and friction. 

Why not add a little spice for the holidays, right?  

Mars our warrior/action planet, is in alignment with the dreamy and sometimes deceptive, Neptune.  This aspect is creating a bit of confusion and paranoia.

Furthermore, this New Moon is squaring Mars/Neptune ramping up the energy and potentially, causing anger and aggression.  We may feel edgy and uncertain, and on the verge of blowing-up.

Be sure that what you are getting worked up about is based on facts and not illusion!  Whenever Neptune is involved, ‘smoke and mirrors’ can get the best of us.  

On the positive side, this Mars/Neptune/Moon connection is fabulous for creative and spiritual work of all kinds.  Singing, acting, writing, dancing, painting- you name it.  Creative juices should be flowing so don’t waste the energy if inspiration strikes!
