Wednesday 8/30 9:36 PM ET- we have a Full Moon in the mystical sign of Pisces.

Not only is this a Full Moon, but it is also a Supermoon meaning it is closer to the Earth, appearing much larger, more luminous.

This Full Moon is also the second Full Moon and second Supermoon in the calendar month, a phenomenon that only occurs once every 2-3 years hence the saying ‘Once in a blue moon’!

A Supermoon takes all of the energy of a Full Moon, and illuminates it x10!

Full Moons in and of themselves are powerful. They are the close out of a 29.5 day cycle and are times of great release, purging and cleansing.

A Full Moon happens when the Sun is opposite the Moon.

This highlights the polarities (opposing forces) in our lives.

These polarities are of an emotional, physical and spiritual nature.  It can be one area or all three, and each Full Moon will feel different based on the sign and planetary aspects surrounding the Moon.

Awareness and emotion reach their peak and are heightened around Full Moons.  This is why we feel more edgy and anxious around these times, sometimes not even being able to sleep.

The Moon rules our subconscious, the raw emotions that lurk underneath the surface.

Everything comes to a head under this energy.  There is a tug of war between head and heart.

The Sun is in Virgo (reality) while the Moon is in the opposite sign of Pisces (spirituality).

Virgo as a practical earth sign strives to keep both feet on the ground, to tend to our outer world.

Pisces as a mystical water sign loves to dream, to tend to the inner world, the psychic world.

Together, these two can make some beautiful poetry if we allow ourselves to go deep, which is what this Full Moon energy is requiring us to do.

While everyone is affected and feels Full Moon energy, the mutable signs which are Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius will feel it stronger.

If you have a Water Moon meaning: Cancer, Scorpio and especially Pisces, your sensitivity levels are going to be off the charts, intuition on fire.

There is a strong sense of karmic endings and beginnings at this time.

This Full Moon is aligned with planet Saturn known as The Lord Of Fate, The Keeper Of Time. The energy of Saturn is acting as an anchor with all of this strong, subconscious energy swirling around.

This Pisces Supermoon carries with it an enhanced level of prophecy. Keep a dream journal handy! This time is ripe for psychic insights and profound and powerful realizations coming up for everyone.

All you need to do is tune out, so that you can tune in.

If you work with crystals, the two I have picked out for this Full Moon are Larimar and Amethyst.

Larimar is a beautiful, calming blue stone that stimulates the heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras (energy centers). This helps us to take it inward, facilitating inner wisdom and outer manifestation. It represents peace and clarity, radiating healing and love energy. Meditate with this stone to help you speak what has been unspoken, to remain calm in the face of high emotions.

Emotions are swelling at this Full Moon!

Amethyst is a beautiful purple, calming stone that works with all of the energy centers; but I specifically like it for this Full Moon as it works wonderfully with balancing the upper Chakras, which are The Third Eye and The Crown.

As we are under strong intuitive energies with a Pisces Full Moon, working with Amethyst can help us to balance the emotional, physical and spiritual body, allowing us to cleanse our own auric field and tune into our inner voice with more ease.

Another way to use Amethyst: sleep with a piece of Amethyst underneath your pillow, as it tends to help insomnia and also, to increase the chance of prophetic dreams. If ever there were a time to try this, it is under this Pisces Full Moon!
