Sunday into Monday, depending on where you live, we are experiencing a very dramatic Full Moon in Leo.  On the East Coast, it takes place at 12:16 AM, Monday 1/21.

Even though this Full Moon/Eclipse technically occurs on 1/21 , it is felt sometime before and sometime after,  you best believe.

This is a Lunar Eclipse/Blood Moon, which is a fancy way of saying that this is a Full Moon on steroids!

A Full Moon happens when the Sun is opposite the Moon.

This highlights the polarities (opposing forces) in our lives.

These polarities are of an emotional, physical and spiritual nature.  It can be one area or all three, and each Full Moon will feel different based on the sign and planetary aspects surrounding the Moon.

Awareness and emotion reach their peak and are heightened around Full Moons.  This is why we feel more edgy and anxious around these times, sometimes not even being able to sleep.

I don’t know about you but I have really been feeling this energy the past ten days….phew.

Full Moons are about culmination and release.  Everything comes to a head under this energy.

Particularly,  since this is an Eclipse- there is no escaping what your heart is telling you. 

Leo rules the heart, after all.

At the end of the day, our souls just want us to be happy.  Not ‘ok’, not ‘indifferent’, but happy.  

Eclipses are a gateway for us all into the past, present and future.  Emotionally, physically and spiritually, fated events and encounters are highly likely around these times.  It is also a time for deep contemplation and reflection- a ‘celestial checkpoint’, if you will.

This is a North Node Eclipse- meaning , very much connected to our future, laying the ground work for where we know we need to go to grow.

It is time to clear away the old and outdated ways of thinking, doing , and being so that we can achieve enlightenment.

I came across a meme online today, and it inspired this post.

If a passed loved one visits you in a dream, understand this to be a real visit.

This is very true.

One of the strongest ways your passed loved ones will connect with you, will let you know that they are ok, is by visiting you in your dreams.

I have been blessed with these visitations many times and no matter how often they happen, I am always in awe.

As expected, when you are completely defenseless and unguarded (asleep) these thoughts, these loved ones, will turn up in your dreams because this is how they can get to you .

Most of us do not walk around in a meditative state.  Furthermore, we are bombarded with outside stimuli that keep us preoccupied and in constant motion.

We miss many signs from our passed loved ones, angels and spirit guides this way.  They cannot get through to us if we have too much noise in our mind and hearts.  

I know what many of you might be thinking in regards to dreaming of the deceased , so let me clarify.

A lot of times, we dream of those that are gone from the earth plane.

Sometimes these dreams are very fragmented, and simply do not make any sense.

Logically when we miss someone we think of them and naturally, the subconscious stores this.

These are not necessarily visitations, but quite simply, dreams.

There is a difference between dreams and visitations, yes.

Now, what about those dreams, those vivid ones where you can feel, taste ,touch and smell every detail?

Where you wake up feeling as if you were truly there, truly experiencing this energy exchange, this time with your loved one that has passed?

In these dreams, they say something specific to you, give you a message that you need at that exact moment of your life.  Perhaps they give you numbers, signs, an answer that does not make sense at the time but always will later.

For those that have experienced this, you know what I am referring to!

These are real, these are visitations and you should cherish them.

If you felt it, it was a visit – plain and simple.  These are the ones that you will never forget, and years later, they can still move you to joy and tears.

Believe me, you will know the difference.

One of my favorites that I will share with you.

My maternal Grandfather passed away when I was just three -years old.

I have zero memory of him sadly, yet through out my life I have always felt a distinct void when it comes to him.  Like I truly missed out on my time with him, because I have always heard stories about how funny and amazing he was and how much he loved his ‘girls’.

Well…..about ten years ago ( yes that long ago and I still remember every detail), Grandpa Jimmy visited me.

In my ‘dream’, I was sitting outside on my Uncle’s front steps playing with pennies and dimes. *Important to mention that at this particular point in my life, I was in between jobs and very concerned about finances.

All of a sudden I looked up and there was my Grandpa Jimmy with this HUGE smile on his face, walking towards me with a wad of dollar bills in his hand.

It was like he appeared out of nowhere. I can still feel the awe I experienced at seeing him.

He was wearing a white polo shirt and khaki pants (Grandpa was an avid golfer back in his day, and was dressed this way in the visit).

I could actually FEEL his smile, and I FELT my shock and my happiness at seeing him.  Every detail of this ‘dream’ is still etched out in my mind and in my soul.  It was so real.

Grandpa walked towards me, did not say a word, just took my hand and off we went.

We walked everywhere, talking and laughing and ‘catching up’, if you will.  I told him a corny joke which I will spare you the length of here 😉 and he laughed and said “that’s my Lisa”.

I could feel the joy.  It felt so good to connect with him, he really knew me!

We ended up at PathMark Supermarket ( do those even still exist?) in the Bronx.  We were recycling bags upon bags of bottles for coins, all the while just talking and laughing hysterically. *Also important to mention that the wad of cash he had been holding was never seen again.  

At one point, I looked up at him with this overwhelming sadness and said “Grandpa, don’t you have to go back now”?  To which he looked down at his watch, looked back at me and said “Nah, I still have some time”!  And away we went back out into the street to walk again.

I could keep going about this , but will leave you with these sentiments.

Over the next few days, I relived this visit over and over, it just felt so good.

I knew Grandpa had truly spent some time with me, and oddly, it lifted that void I had felt for years about missing out on my time with him.

This dream made me so happy, I can’t even explain it.   He knew I needed that at a difficult, and transitional time in my life. 

Final interesting tidbit: I debated telling Grandma (who thankfully, is still here with us), about this dream because I was not too sure how she would react.  But in true Lisa fashion, I followed my gut and told her the whole dream.

You won’t believe what she said.  Well, maybe you will.  First of all, she cracked up laughing and said ” he used to go cash in those G%^ Damn bottles every Sunday morning for two hours straight”.  I never knew that, no one had ever told me this.

Guess what else I found out from Granny?  He cashed them in at PathMark (the supermarket in the dream), and that dream I had occurred on a Sunday morning, the mornings Grandpa would cash the bottles in!

Coincidence?  I think not. 

Grandpa, no doubt in my mind and heart, was truly with me that day/night.

I also took from that dream, due to the money references and my cheesy joke telling (HA) and his comment “That’s my Lisa” that:

1)  I was going to be ok financially

2) it was time to start being more frugal (cashing in bottles for money)

3) I would have to work for it but the finances would improve (he never handed me the money in this dream, and from what I was told he was known to do that)

4) most importantly: Grandpa knew me.  Which was always such a sad thought for me, that he didn’t know me.  But through this dream a.ka. ‘visit’- I realized that Grandpa knew my heart, and love truly is eternal.

They (our loved ones) truly feel us and see us and all of who we are, even when they are no longer with us physically.

Most heart felt and important take-away from this experience that I would like to share with you: our loved ones never truly leave us. 

We may not be able to see them, but if we listen close enough, if we ask them for a sign, I promise you will feel them.  They always want to help and assist us on our journey here how and if, they can.

On the other side of the coin (no pun intended)- do not get discouraged if you have been asking for, and not receiving signs.

A lot of times pain and grief can be so debilitating and strong, and we just cannot feel or see anything beyond that.

Often times, we need to go through certain things on our soul journey here and our loved ones cannot step in, because we need to learn on our own.  However, if they are able to assist, they will.

In these cases, don’t ask for an answer, just ask them to let you know they feel you.

One way to increase the chances of receiving a ‘visit’ like this, is by simply asking for it before you fall asleep, but the trick is not to be afraid.

Your loved ones will never want to frighten you!  Ask them to show up for you in a way that won’t make you uncomfortable, in a way that you will recognize.

Secondly,  you can get yourself a nice piece of Amethyst (purple)  and/or Celestite (blue) crystal.  Put these under your pillow to increase the odds of ‘sweet dreams’ such as the one I described above.  *Amethyst helps to keep you in a deep, comfortable sleep and fights insomnia, while Celestite is a very pure and angelic stone, helping to connect you to the spirit realm.

Happy 2019!  Bright and happy wishes for a prosperous year ahead.

Today, 1/5 as of 8:28 PM EST we have a New Moon in Capricorn.  This is also a partial Solar Eclipse, and the first New Moon of the year with some pretty positive, yet strong, serious emotions and convictions attached to it.

A New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle, the movement of the moon through its different phases.

New Moons are a time of new beginnings.  The beginning of a new cycle, a time to initiate plans and projects, get things moving, a fresh start.  Abundance typically surrounds this energy.

The Sun aligns with the Moon in the sky when it’s a New Moon meaning, that they are in the same sign-Capricorn.

Release, rebuild, renew and regenerate are the themes for this New Moon, and for 2019 overall.

With the Sun and Moon both in Capricorn right now, work is at the forefront .

We are under a lot of cardinal energy, meaning energy that initiates, that gets everything started.

We feel like we have ‘ants in our pants’ with this energy, and it may even feel a bit scattered and misdirected as we try and navigate the terrain of our soul.

Keep in mind that we have zero air (mental) energy in the current astrology, which means that we cannot escape what we feel.  We are living by our hearts, as logic is more difficult to access.   

Rolling up our sleeves after a period of introspection (2018) and making moves, making plans is where we are at.

Mercury, Saturn and Pluto are also all in the sign of the serious and ever-so-ambitious sea goat, Capricorn.  This is forcing us to face and feel our own pain, our own limitations.   

What does this mean, all of this Capricorn/Earth energy?  We have the drive to move forward, and if we feel stuck, accepting that for the moment, this is where we need to be as well. 

Oh and most importantly:  this also happens to be a Solar Eclipse, the first of five this year.

A Solar Eclipse is still a New Moon, only more powerful and impactful.

Eclipses come in pairs (the next one is the Lunar/Full Moon in Cancer on 1/21), and are very fated and pivotal points for everyone.  *Depending on where these hit your own chart will tell you more about which area(s) of your life is going to get an overhaul or a surprise.

We are standing at a crossroads, looking ahead and figuring out where we are going and who and what, is coming with us.  What is supporting our growth, what is hindering it?  This is an important time and is setting the stage for the next phase of our lives.  

Clearing out the toxicity is the name of the game.  People, places and situations, our own bodies.  It is time to level up, release all the gunk that is weighing you down.  You, and only you, know what that is and this looks different for everyone.

There is a literal purging that is taking place right now.  An energetic cleanse, if you will.  You may be experiencing headaches, body aches, heart palpitations, and itchy skin just to name a few.  Trust in the process and follow your heart.  Take good care of yourself this year.

This is a wonderful time to set intentions for the months/year ahead!  Be sure to write down all that you wish to bring in, to accomplish.  I am creating my yearly vision board for this New Moon..now is a great time to do that. 🙂

Happy Birthday to all of our Capricorns!

Today, 12/22 the Sun leaves jovial and freedom-loving Sagittarius and moves into the more serious and structured sign of the Sea Goat, Capricorn.

Capricorn is ruled by planet Saturn.  The best way to describe Saturns function in our lives is like this: “Oh, you want to go outside and play?  Well, make sure you eat all of your peas first”.

Saturn is the ‘daddy’ of the zodiac.  This is why most Capricorn people have a serious vibe to them.  They are ruled by the most serious planet.  Work now, play later.

As such, when we are under Capricorn energy, we feel more serious.  We want to get all of our work done so that we can play.

Capricorn falls under the element of Earth making this sign very practical and grounded.  They are rooted and loyal to those they love and any causes they truly believe in.  This sign is also known to be a bit stubborn in their convictions much like their fellow earth buddy, Taurus.

Capricorn is also a cardinal sign, meaning they initiate, they get things going.  While yes, they take their time to weigh out their emotions and decisions, once they make up their mind they forge ahead and do not look back.  Cardinal signs as initiators, always bring in the new season.  Capricorn marks the official beginning of Winter.  Other cardinal signs are Aries (spring), Cancer (summer) and Libra (Autumn).

There is a wise soul behind every Capricorn male and female.  Despite their sometimes serious and aloof exterior (which they seem to possess from youth),  there usually hides a very goofy and loving person.

At their most positive, they are truthful, steadfast and determined.  Very hard working and always looking to acquire more, these people like to take care of everyone and everything.  Capricorn males and females are usually very good with money, both making it and managing it.

At their most negative, they can be rigid, abrupt and inflexible.  Way too serious at times, they can come off as abrasive and selfish.  This couldn’t be further from the truth, it’s just that they know what they like and dislike and they will not bend for what they don’t believe in.  You cannot sway this sign to your side if they are against it.  Capricorns take time to open up and trust , but once they do you have a friend for life.

The Devil often comes up in readings to show us where we may need to break habits, to change patterns.  This card is all about our karma (which Saturn rules and Saturn rules Capricorn), and our ingrained behaviors and beliefs.

The Devil is not that horrible, so don’t despair!  He comes to us to shine a light on to our control issues, our addictions.  These can be at the emotional level as well as the physical. 

Habits and behaviors that are unhealthy are at the forefront right now.  At the soul level, I am sure we all have something(s) that we know we need to shift for a healthier life- mind, body, soul.  Going into 2019 is the perfect time to address them.

Often times we feel bonded or chained to a person, place or situation, when in reality it is our own soul and our own karma that is keeping us there.

The universe will support you once you make a decision, as indecision will not bring any movement.  It’s the law of energy.

This time of year is especially difficult for those that are depressed, struggling or dependent on alcohol and/or narcotics.  The Devil is here as a warning to take it easy on these vices as this card rules addictions of all forms.

Capricorn season is a great time to make a plan of what you would like to work towards, to shift going into the New Year.
